Tube Bending Rotary Draw Machinery

Tube can be: round, square, rectangular,
it is used for structural purposes, and measured by outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness.

Pipe is round, it is used for transfer of gas, fluids etc

And is is identified by pipe inside diameter , plus another non-dimensional number for the wall thickness,  referred to as the Schedule,
for example – "2-inch diameter pipe, Schedule 40"

TUBE & PIPE BENDING

Rotary draw Tube & Pipe bending, is one of the most precise and widely adopted methods for forming, bending tubes and pipes in metalworking.

It is a mechanical bending, forming technique that uses a fixed-radius bending die to control a bend’s geometry, with high accuracy.

This Tube, Pipe bending method is used across metalworking industries where tight bend tolerances, repeatable results, smooth finishes are essential, such as: automotive exhaust systems,  hydraulic lines, furniture frames,  architectural metalwork.

This level of precision is especially valuable when working with thin-walled tubing or when forming tight radii that can be less than two (2) times the tube’s outside diameter (2D).

Rotary draw sets the bend around a fixed-radius former for accuracy; adding a mandrel and wiper die supports thin-wall tubes and tight radii, reducing wrinkling and ovality.

Model-dependent up to 120 mm OD for tube; pipe capacity varies by Schedule. Share OD, wall, material and desired CLR for the correct model.

NC suits semi-automatic, repeat bends with manual setup; CNC adds programmable length/rotation, multi-radius tooling, springback compensation and job storage for complex parts.

As a guide, ≥2D CLR is common without special support; with mandrel and wiper, many materials can be bent at or below 2D. We’ll confirm per OD, wall and grade.

Yes. Tube is specified by OD and wall; pipe by nominal ID and Schedule (e.g., 2-inch, Sch 40). We size formers accordingly.

Machines ship with standard formers; we supply special or multi-radius formers on request. Quick-change tooling and wipers/mandrels are available—lead times vary by size.

Mild steel, stainless, aluminium, copper and brass. Parameters (CLR, speed, lubrication, mandrel type) vary by material and wall.
