Robotic Press Brake Manufacturing Cells

Robotic press brake manufacturing combines metal forming with high-precision automation to create “bending cells” that can operate around the clock with minimal human intervention. These systems typically integrate a 6-axis industrial robot with a CNC controlled multi axis press brake, to handle all material manipulation i.e. robot pick up of the material, drop into a Prisma for exact datuming of the material, then executing complex multi-bend sequences, finally stacking the finished parts.

The Robot can be integrated to work with both Hydraulic or Electrical Press Brakes.

Material grippers: one of RICO’s advantages is that it designs each robotic press brake manufacturing cell to meet the customers requirements .

Material grippers are designed to optimise the robot’s maximum capacity of 600 kg.

For long workpiece, production, such as trailer sub frames, then RICO can integrate 2 robots to work synchronized. To see tandem intergration in action click here.

In this image you can see that the robot is mounted upon a YASKAWA linear track, inclusion of a track adds an additional dimension for pallet placements for material to be processed and finished products, so the robotic press brake manufacturing cell can be prepared with several pallets for ‘lights out 24/7 working’.
