The RICO HGR Hydraulic Metal Cutting Guillotine is designed for manufacturers that require accurate, repeatable cutting across a wide range of sheet and plate thicknesses. Its vertical cutting system with automatic variable rake angle helps produce clean, consistent cuts while reducing distortion and maintaining cutting accuracy across different materials.
Available in a range of cutting lengths and capacities, the HGR can be configured with different control systems, back gauges and handling options to suit individual production requirements.
The main difference between the RICO HGR and many conventional hydraulic guillotines is its vertical cutting system.
Rather than using a swing beam design, the HGR uses a vertically guided blade with an automatically adjustable rake angle. The cutting angle is matched to the material being processed, helping reduce twist, bowing and the helix effect while maintaining a clean, accurate cut across the full length of the sheet. This approach also distributes the cutting load evenly along the blade, contributing to consistent cutting performance across different material thicknesses.
Configured Around Your Production
The HGR range is available in cutting lengths from 2,050 mm to 6,050 mm with capacities of up to 30 mm mild steel. A choice of control systems, programmable back gauges, front supports, rear sheet support systems and material handling options allows each machine to be specified around the work you produce rather than a fixed machine specification.
Whether you’re processing thinner sheet, heavier plate or a combination of both, the machine can be configured to match your production requirements.
Built for Long-Term Reliability
The HGR features a fully welded monoblock frame manufactured from certified steel together with a blade support system designed to maintain accurate cutting over long production runs. Automatic rake angle adjustment, programmable back gauge options and an energy-saving standby function all contribute to straightforward day-to-day operation, while high-quality components and readily available replacement parts help minimise downtime throughout the machine’s working life.
Support from JPS Machinery
Choosing the right hydraulic guillotine is about more than cutting capacity alone. Material thickness, sheet size, production volumes and handling requirements all influence the most suitable specification.
JPS Machinery can advise on the most appropriate RICO HGR model for your application, along with installation, commissioning, operator training and ongoing technical support. Full technical specifications and available options can be found in the brochure.
A vertical cutting guillotine supports the blade throughout the cutting stroke, helping to produce accurate, consistent cuts across a wide range of sheet thicknesses. This design can also reduce twisting and distortion compared with other cutting systems.
The right model depends on the maximum sheet size, material thickness and production volumes you process. JPS Machinery can recommend the most suitable machine based on your current requirements and future production plans.
Yes. The HGR range can be specified with different CNC control systems, programmable back gauges, front support arms, rear sheet support systems and other options to suit individual production requirements.
The RICO HGR is used across a wide range of industries including steel fabrication, general engineering, construction, agricultural equipment manufacturing, metal processing and heavy engineering where accurate sheet and plate cutting is required.
